Northern Institute for Deep Learning in Ultrasound(NIDUS) is a multidisciplinary research lab
focussing on the application of Artificial Intelligence in ultrasound. AI-enhanced ultrasound
has the potential to directly and positively impact people's health, providing critical
information to doctors regarding prognosis and the best possible course of action anywhere a
medical professional can go.
Synergizing AI with highly portable handheld ultrasound probes
can have a transformational effect on people's health as they can receive treatment
here and now, with the support of their families and their own communities.

We are located in the Department of Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging, University of Alberta. Our team consists of radiologists, clinical researchers, AI scientists, students, and our wonderful support staff.At NIDUS, we work with the world leaders in AI and ultrasound to provide AI-enabled ultrasound tools for specific examinations.
